Nothing stays the same, right? We all agree that this summer has been the hottest thus far, but why? Every year, due to global temperature rises, the environment continues to worsen. Here are some positive lifestyle changes to save the environment.
1. Using public transportation or a bicycle for commuting:
When possible, get to school by walking, biking, or using the bus as opposed to using a private vehicle. If you live far from your school or college, taking the train or bus might be your best choice. Walking or biking is the best option if you live close, and it has a further benefit in that you are exercising your body.
2. Reduce printing:
I know. As a student, you all have a tonne of assignments and projects, so you must print copies of things, but try to cut back on that as much as you can. Ask your teachers if you can print on both sides of the page to save paper. Alternatively, ask them if they are willing to accept your projects online in a pdf file.
4. Save energy:
When your lectures are over and everyone has left the room, don't forget to turn off the lights and fans. This can help you become a more responsible student and young person in addition to saving electricity and energy.
Several other small steps -
- Limit your meat consumption.
- Bring your own water bottle with you to avoid having to purchase one.
- Educate your parents and younger siblings.
