The GP65 is
equipped with a 15.6" non-touch matte IPS display with 1080P and 144Hz. MSI GP65 has a display that far exceeds that of the Triton 500, courtesy of a LG panel.
Viewing anything on the display shows vivid colors, and the display looks
sharp.
There is no
tearing when viewing everyday content on the panel, and gaming is good and easy
on the eyes. Using it outdoors shouldn't be an issue at all since the
brightness is great.
Content
creation also benefits from the color coverage. The standard RGB color gamut is
100%, which means your digital content will be pretty color accurate, while
Adobe RGB at 76% suffices somewhat for print. Nonetheless, if you are focused
on your content much more than anything else, you should look elsewhere. While viewing dark contents, there was a bit of
backlight bleeding, however, it was very minimal.
The keyboard
is a full-sized SteelSeries model. MSI is known for shipping laptops with
excellent keyboards, and this one is no exception. Typing, in general, is
great, because the keys have great travel and are tactile. Above the Numpad is
a power button with a few hotkeys. You can use one of those keys to cycle
through the awesome RGB animations while the other one increases the fan speed
to the maximum.
In terms of gaming, this system is simply delightful. Even on high settings, AAA titles run smoothly and with minimal lag, meaning they can easily hit high framerates on medium to low settings. Thus, the laptop works well for games that are not too demanding.
