The current pandemic has changed the way we do most things - the way we work, study, spend our free time, entertain ourselves, consume news, socialize, and even support causes that are important to us. Some of us have an intense urge to help and support our loved ones and the world. This desire to reach out has made us ask, ”How can I help?”
We’ve put together a quick breakdown of some of the most efficient ways to offer your support amidst social distancing because after all, we are all in this together.
1. Check on your loved ones, senior citizens and house help.
Call/text your loved ones or neighbors and make sure that they’re doing okay. Ask if there is anything that they require, and if you have what they need, consider offering to leave it outside for them. Call your building guards and house help to check in on them and consider offering them support in these uncertain times.
2. Volunteer online
As online volunteering evolves in the wake of the current pandemic, explore and reach out to non-profits and social justice organizations to offer your support. For eg: taking up virtual teaching, offering non-profits to assist with operational tasks to continue to run their programs, or consider being a ‘listener’ to those going through a mental health crisis.
3. Make conscious choices & donate to worthy causes.
Now more than ever, our world requires us to make conscious choices. Be it being mindful of your grocery purchases to ensure there is enough for others, or by staying in to avoid putting yourself and others at risk of the virus. Better still – you can make your purchasing choices conscious. Buying in from socially conscious brands will not only help you make that purchase an item you need, but also contribute to causes and charities, from your homes.
We, at MySocially, are running a campaign for COVID-19 relief and are donating a percentage of all sales towards the PM Care Relief Fund. You could buy a product of your choice from our website, and instantly make a contribution to support the front lines of the current crisis.
